How long have you been in business?
Naperville Music was founded in 1974 by Rich Karnuth and Mark Gardner. Karnuth and Gardner were musicians who wanted to offer Naperville residents a local music store that provided quality instruments and music lessons.
What is your primary product or service?
Naperville Music is one of the largest independent music stores in the Midwest. It recently occupied it's new addition which was build next to its current store. Naperville Music has 4 primary areas of operation. 1)Educational Services (private and group lessons on all instruments, and Band and Orchestra Rentals to students studying in the school systems); 2) Piano sales; 3) General musical insttrument sales and service; 4)Guitar sales and brokerage. Each area is supported by modern and dedicated facilities within our store. Naperville Music also provides in store repair facilites for all types of instrument repairs including band instruments, orchestra instruments, as well as guitars. We have a staff of highly qualified technicians who service instruments daily. Naperville Music is a regional destination for piano shoppers. We represent the best piano manufacturers with a large selection of pianos in our new and expanded piano showroom. We offer our customers new and used pianos, as well acoustic and digital products from Yamaha, Kawai, Hardman-Peck and others. Our piano products range in price from under $500 for an entry level digital piano to over $50,000 for concert grands. In our daily business we sell to families, however we also sell pianos schools and universities throughout the midwest. We are a trusted provider to Universities like Loyola, Columbia College, and North Central College. While we have dozens of pianos in our showroom for you to see and try, we have hundreds of pianos in various finishes and styles in our Naperville warehouse, and we deliver your piano from our warehouse in just days. We are also internationally known for our guitar business. We specialize in unique new guitars as well as vintage guitars, and are unique in that we represent dozens of manufacturers and private builders. We also have a wide variety of guitars available for students as well as experienced players. While our brick and mortar location provides us will a high quality and inviting physical location in Naperville, our guitar business is international in scope.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We started in Twin Centers Shopping Center on Odgen Avenue in 1974 in a 1500 square foot store. Today we occupy over 10,000 square feet in the center, and have offsite warehouses that we use for inbound and outbound product management. Our bricks and mortar store in Naperville provides a showroom for our products, and houses our private and group teaching areas, as well as our retail offices.
