Christian preschool and kindergarten
Our curriculum at Little Blessings offers a balance between Kindergarten readiness skills, play and socialization, and faith formation. We follow the Illinois Early Learning Standards for Kindergarten Readiness as a guide to the academic portion of our curriculum, and each month we follow different seasonal themes to ensure a variety of experiences and topics for the children. Each day children have opportunities for play, both inside the classroom, and also during large motor play. Our religious curriculum is Godly Play. You can learn more about this on the Godly Play website, godlyplayfoundation.org, watch a video that demonstrates a Godly Play lesson, and listen to an explanation of the program?s philosophy. Children also participate in classroom devotions, and monthly Children?s Chapel. We have a music teacher that visits each class one time per week. Lessons include songs with sign language, rhythm instruments, dancing with scarves, listening to bird and insect calls, story telling, finger plays, and she also leads our pageant, Little Blessings Shares the Christmas Story. During the pageant, half of the children are shepherds, and half are angels. The children sing with sign language, parade, and walk through the events surrounding the birth of Jesus. The pageant is recorded, and parents may purchase a DVD of their child?s pageant as a keepsake.
Our sessions run from 9:00am to 11:30am, and 12:30pm to 3:00pm. You can also learn more about our program at www.littleblessings.org . We also offer morning preschool, lunch bunch, and afternoon enrichment classes. Another option is extended care, 7:00am to 6:00pm. Tuition is charged in flexible time blocks, so you can customize your child?s schedule.
