We are a carpentry based general contractor specializing in residential construction. Additions, custom built homes, remodeling. Ready and willing to make your house the home you have always dreamed of!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My name is (Lyndon)Lee Veinot III. I am the President and Founder of Character Builders Construction. I grew up in the construction industry. My father before me was a general contractor. I have been on the job since i was 10 years old(I am now 35). I'll never forget the day i was taught how to sweep properly. I have "taught" many other people since...lol. When i was 19, i selected the field of carpentry to specify in and just loved it. Simultaneously i was furthering my education at COD in such matters as business, philosophy, physics and math. In 1998, at 24 years old, i founded the company Richlee Built Inc. I had a partner at that time (named Rich). There came a day when he had other interests and so Richlee with no Rich wasn't going to work out. So in Jan 2004, Character Builders Construction was born. We have worked in hundreds of homes and people in the Dupage County area and look forward to working with many more in the years ahead.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The major advantage that our business has over others is that we are not only managing the work, we are on the job doing it, literally hammer in hand. Many companies that do similar work to ours are just managing, sitting at a desk making phone calls. We are on the job from beginning to end. We frame the structure ourselves. Then we call our good friend and associate Haynes Electric and our other mechanical friends like Dehart Heating & Cooling to come put the their pieces into it. Meanwhile we are still on the job working on the exterior finishes. When they are all done, we move back inside and work on the trim installation, cabinetry, tile, etc. So truly, our people are on the job from the beginning to the end of the project. This is hugely advantageous to running an efficient and well managed job. One other big advantage is that we can and do take care of the small things a client may need at a later date. Like replace a door, or repair a hole in the wall, or paint a room. Every family needs a family doctor, the family dentist, the family mechanic and the family contractor. That's us. We want to service every construction need that arises in your home.

We are located in West Chicago. We work all over the Dupage and Kane County region.
